Are you able to use SMTP Authentication?

Users | Domains | your domain | Domain Settings

Force SMTP AUTH for non-clients

You will also want to set port 587 on the CGP SMTP listener.

The mail client does need settings adjustment.  The client has to enable SMTP Auth (usually a check off of some type in the client software) and change the port on the outgoing mailserver to 587.
