I don't think that is the cause of your problems - yahoogroups SMTP
traffic has been a mess lately. Look at this:

That's not being a good Internet neighbor.

Your best bet is probably to just white-hole "*.yahoo.com", because
other delays (such as when using Reverse-Connect) may be worsening these
Yahoo e-mail problems.

[Settings->Network->Blacklisted IPs]:
  Detect White Holes by DNS Name: *.yahoo.com

Then contact Yahoo and ask them to please fix it. :)
