I'm not sure if choosing the wrong port number caused this, but the initial sync process that kicked off added thousands of duplicates into my CGP - stopped the sync at 21,000 or so records - it looks like there are hundreds of dupes of everything
I believe this might be a CGP AriSync implementation bug that was fixed in 5.2.9:
Bug Fix: AIRSYNC: 5.2.4: client-updating items that have been just added with the same client could produce duplicated items on that client.
iSync agent might have triggered that bug by adding new contacts from AddressBook and racing with iPhone then.
Is that possible to upgrade the CGP Server to recent version and give the iSync Agent another try?
I stopped the service from the pref pane (it showed as not running) but it was actually still running and was unkillable in Activity Monitor and running at about 50% proc
Had to disconnect from the internet and remove network settings, then stop service again from the pref pane to actually stop the process.
Removed the prefPane from Library/PreferencePanes to uninstall

5.2.5 CGP PPC
iPhone via Exchange connected
App was installed and launched while both Mail.app and Address Book.app were open.
Now to remove 20k new contacts from web and my iPhone.
