OK I got it working as:

hostname: server IP

BaseDN: cn=maindomain.com
BindDN: uid=victor,cn=mydomain.com   (my domain is also the main domain).

But when I try to sync I get this error in the log....

08:42:53.702 1 LDAP-003187([MY IP ADDRESS]) failed to add 'cn=Gaucho Grill Pasadena,cn=maindomain.com'. Error Code=insufficient directory access rights

So now there is a setting to fix on the server ... any idea which?
