Sounds to me very much like a job for an = external script running as a scheduled task (Windows) or from cron = (Linux, UNIX).

I'd hazard a guess that something in Perl using = the CLI or XIMSS would work, as long as it can parse the calendar data. = In fact, I'd hazard another guess that this probably already exists = somewhere!
