At 11:24 AM -0700 9/1/03, Warren Michelsen  imposed structure on a stream of electrons, yielding:
What the devil is the 'LAST' POP3 command? I'm guessing it's a MS thing.

Nope. It's a POP2 thing. Nasty stupid concept that was deprecated by the POP3 spec. It required the server to maintain an unwieldy amount of state about past POP sessions. No modern POP client actually depends on the silly thing unless it was programmed by total imbeciles.

I have clients trying to use Yahoo

Like I said...

to access their POP SIMS
mailboxes and they get: 'POP server does not support LAST command.
You may only retrieve POP mail from this server using "get all
messages". ' Unfortunately, Yahoo doesn't then tell them how to 'Get
All Messages'.

Clues?

Be careful what you ask for. Yahoo has proven impervious to said commodity, frequently insisting that they have absolutely no need for any which they do not grow themselves in their anti-clue hydroponics facility. If you are sent too many intended for trans-shipment to Yahoo, you are certain to end up with a vast overstock likely to exceed what you can store, and to make matters worse, the damn things breed like bunnies.

The 'get all messages' option for Yahoo Mail is somewhere in the setup pages where they tell Yahoo what their username and password is for their account with you.

Yes. I did mean that. There's a strong likelihood that if you have a security policy, your user of Yahoo to do this is violating it.
