I am now in England and I can manage my servers in Japan (both running Mac OS 9 and X)  comfortably with Timbuktu 6.03 but when I try to do the same thing with VNC it feels like viewing a slow motion replay.

Controlling a Classic mac  with Timbuktu is fine, even from an OS X Mac. But controlling an OS X Mac via TB2 is painfully slow. So I still use TB2 to manage Classic Macs, but I removed TB2 and installed VNC on a couple of X Macs.
