Subject: SMTP Problems, Really, Really Need Help

I am running IPNetRouter 1.4.4, SIMS 1.8b7, and Macjordomo 1.5 on a
dedicated IP address that is hosting domain <beloit-kansas.com>. I am
occasionally have the following in my logs, and while this is going on, none
of my clients can send email (although they continue to receive ok). There
is no other apparent activity going on (that would fill up the pipeline). I
would be willing to send a more detailed log set at your suggested level, to
a Stalker employee to help me figure out what is going on. Sometimes this
outgoing SMTP deafness only lasts a minute or so, but other times it lasts
for upwards of ten minutes, and times in between. Will upgrading to 1.8b8
help this go away? I see no indications in the IPNetRouter logs that
anything is going on with it, so I suspect there is an intereaction with
SIMS itself, or SIMS and something else. Oh, I am running MacOS 8.6 on my
server with whatever version of TCP/IP that comes with that.
