I have a 404 error page that allows the user to send a notice to the webmaster in the event of a Not Found error -- Bad URL or broken link. Sometimes I redirect these (in Eudora) to the actual webmaster.

When redirecting to one particular person I always got:
_____
Subject: Undeliverable mail: Bad URL Requested by 207.108.13
From: MAILER-DAEMON@MDCCLXXVI.com
To: WebMaster@MDCCLXXVI.com
Date: Thu, 26 Oct 2000 17:07:22 -0700

Failed to deliver your message to [account]@MYBLUEHEAVEN.COM:
SMTP: The letter body is rejected by host
Host 'myblueheaven.com' says:
550 rejected: there is no valid sender in any header line (envelope sender is <WebMaster@MDCCLXXVI.com>)

Reporting-MTA: dns; MDCCLXXVI.com [my SIMS box]

Final-Recipient: rfc822; [account]@MYBLUEHEAVEN.COM
Action: failed
Status: 5.0.0

Turns out the FROM: header was configured to just "webserver" with no @domain part.

SIMS does not appear to have this feature -- rejecting mail with no valid sender. Given how much spam does not have a valid sender, mightn't addition of such a feature to SIMS be another useful anti-spam feature?
