This is the error message straight out of RFC1870.

IIRC, 552 is the too long, and 442 is a "too long for mailbox (retry)" error.

(the latter would indicate that while the message is not too long for the
server to handle it is too long for the particular mailbox to take because
the mailbox doesn't _currently_ have enough space.  So, a 5 meg email
coming in to a 10Mg mailbox that has 8 megs in it would return a 442, I
